Cape Argus 2015 – Why not Combine it with a Family Break?

Prepare for the Cape Argus 2015 with a Prep Week (or two) in Cape Town, and get yourself in tip-top condition for race day on Sunday 8th March 2015!

March is a wonderful time of year to visit South Africa’s Mother City, and with warm sunshine, temperatures in the mid to late 20s, and all the activities you could possibly wish for, it is the perfect place to combine a family break with some training for the Cape Argus Cycle Tour.

Training for the Cape Argus 2014

By heading to Cape Town one or two weeks prior to the Cape Argus, you will miss the chaotic arrival of some 35,000 cyclists, all transporting bicycles, and you have a much greater chance of your bike arriving safely, and on time, than if you book a last-minute flight to arrive a day before the race.

During you stay, you can visit the world-famous wine regions of Stellenbosch, Wellington, and Paarl (all have great cycling routes), the Whale Coast of Hermanus, and if you want to make the most out of your time in South Africa, a trip along the illustrious Garden Route wouldn’t go a miss!

By hiring a family saloon car or jeep, you will have plenty of space to transport your bicycle along with the family luggage, so you can move around freely and discover the best of what the Western Cape has to offer, without leaving your loved ones behind.

There are accommodations to suit every taste and every budget in South Africa, and by staying in quality guests houses and hotels, your ‘other half’ can enjoy the hotel pool, the spa, the local shopping areas, and the hospitality that South Africa is renowned for, while you get some kilometres in along the official Cape Argus Route!

While the Cape Argus Cycle Tour 2015 is perfect for single travellers, it is perfect for families too, so don’t feel you have to leave your loved ones at home, they will enjoy the trip to South Africa just as much as you will, and at least they won’t have saddle sore on 9th March!
